Building a Sustainable Future Together

Green Training INTernational Program for agriculture and livestock farming and conservation (GreenTraINT) (GA 101179780)

Kickoff Meeting of Erasmus+ CBHE project GreenTraINT

Building a Sustainable Future Together

20 February 2025

We are thrilled to share the latest updates on Green Training INTernational Program for agriculture and livestock farming and conservation (GreenTraINT), an Erasmus+ Capacity Building Higher Education initiative dedicated to enhancing education in agriculture, livestock farming, and conservation in the Seychelles. The project officially launched with a Kickoff Meeting held from February 13 to 15, 2025, at the University of Bologna comprising a satellite Kickoff meeting at the Immersive Parks - Parco Natura Viva (IPPNV), where partners from Italy, Germany, and the Seychelles gathered to align objectives, define methodologies, and outline the first steps of this collaborative journey. This meeting provided an essential platform to strengthen partnerships, structure the work packages, and discuss both the administrative and financial aspects that will support the project’s implementation.

GreenTraINT is rooted in the idea of combining academic rigor with practical expertise to create meaningful educational opportunities in fields that are crucial for sustainability. By leveraging the knowledge and experience of institutions such as the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority (SPGA) and IPPNV alongside universities and vocational training centers, the project aims to implement the needed skills to train future Seychelles professionals in sustainable agri-food and livestock farming sectors with conservation purposes.. One of the first activities will be a detailed needs analysis, essential for developing training programs that are both practical and academically structured, ensuring long-term impact in sustainable agriculture, conservation, and biodiversity management.

A key aspect of GreenTraINT is its commitment to fostering international collaboration and knowledge-sharing. Throughout the project, an advisory committee composed of experts from the partner organizations will play a crucial role in providing guidance, monitoring progress, and refining methodologies to ensure the project achieves its full potential. Looking ahead, one of the most anticipated initiatives will be the 2026 Summer School, a unique opportunity for students and educators to engage in hands-on learning experiences that blend theory and practice in sustainability.

Communication will be a fundamental pillar of GreenTraINT, with the project website serving as a hub for updates, training materials, and collaboration opportunities. Regular reports and outreach activities will ensure the project’s impact extends beyond its immediate participants, encouraging broader engagement and knowledge exchange. More than just a training initiative, GreenTraINT represents a step toward a more sustainable and interconnected future, where education, conservation, and innovation come together to drive real change.

We look forward to sharing further developments and invite you to join us in making this vision a reality.
